A review of the Webber Genesis II

Time to fire up the grill because it's grilling season. I'm very excited to be partnering with the Home Depot to review the Webber Genesis II.

The Home Depot carries a wide range of Webber accessories that makes BBQ possibilities endless. The Genesis II 3-Burner propane gas grill with built-In thermometer and side burner is the ultimate grilling machine. It’s equipped with 3 stainless steel burners that deliver even heat, a sear station & side burner and the flavorizer bars sizzles the drippings to add a smoky flavor to food

The high performance ignition switch made firing up the grill a snap. Having the propane tank positioned on the outside of the grill makes it ultra convenient to install and remove the tank.

“Discover what’s possible with Weber”
A good friend of ours is a local fisher and recently brought us home some fresh caught lobster.
BBQing fresh lobster was a first for me but with a little quick research and the help of my Webber Genesis II, I grilled up a delicious surf and turf dinner for two.

I started off by preheating the grill and then adding a marinated tri-tip steak. I let the tri-tip steak cook for around 15 minutes while I worked on prepping the lobsters for the grill. I split the lobster shells along the top ending at the tail, and then butterflied it open. I used a whole stick of butter to lather the lobster and coated them with fresh squeezed lemon and a light touch of salt and pepper.

The Intense Heat Zone in the center of the grill is the perfect
sear station that quickly seared the tri-tip steak creating the beautiful sear marks. The stainless steel flavorizer bars below the grill are angled just right to catch and sizzle drippings. The smoke created adds delicious smoky flavor. I grilled a lemon to add to the lobster at the very end that made the entire BBQ smell zesty and delicious.

I added the Webber LED Grill handle light, which came in handy during the evening grilling. The sun began to set before I had finished barbequing, which made having a task light over the grill extremely helpful. I didn't realize it until I turned it on, that it has a motion sensor that turns the light on once you open the lid to the BBQ. This was very handy and also helpful on saving the battery life.

Another fun and helpful Webber accessory I picked up at the Home Depot is a Webber Instant-read grill thermometer. Figuring out the inner temperature of the tri-tip steak was as easy a click of the on button.

I grilled the tri-tip for around 35 minutes, and I grilled the lobsters over the open flame for 5 minutes then flipped them over and let them grill on low heat for about 15 minutes with out opening the grill lid. I finished the lobsters off with a squeeze of fresh grilled lemon, which had a zesty smoky flavor. I have to say for my first time grilling surf and turf, I'm extremely proud of myself. Not only did it turn out delicious it was a fun and easy grilling experience.
