Building a Custom Redwood Hot Tub Surround for Our Coleman Inflatable Hot Tub | DIY Tutorial


Hey friends! I’m sharing how I built a custom redwood surround for our inflatable Coleman hot tub (from @Lowes). This project combines woodworking skills, a little creativity, and a lot of fun! Let's get to it.

How to Build a Hot Tub Surround
🔨 Step-by-Step Process 1️⃣ Foam Base Template: Started with a 1/2” foam base from Amazon, trimmed 6 inches, and used it as a guide to trace the hot tub’s shape onto brown construction paper. 2️⃣ Framing the Structure: Cut arcs from 2x12 lumber using a jigsaw (and later a bandsaw for more accurate cuts). 3️⃣ Assembly: Used my @FestoolUSA Kapex miter saw and @KregToolCompany Foreman jig to add pocket holes for easy assembly. 4️⃣ Redwood Covering: Covered the frame with redwood boards, sealing them with @TotalBoat Gleam varnish for durability and shine. 5️⃣ Finishing Touches: Added angled top boards, filled nail holes with a glue-and-sawdust mix, and installed COB LED string lights for a beautiful glow at night. 🛠️ Hot Tub Cover Hack I modified the Coleman cover by removing snaps, cleaning it with acetone, and separating the insulated sections to improve heat retention. 🌟 Materials & Tools Used: Foam mat for under hot tub: https://amzn.to/4gJuWyN Redwood boards (Thank you @MendocinoForestProducts!) Today I’m showing you how I made a life size epoxy skull with a life size walnut wood brain to fit inside. I started by making mini skulls first and figure out what worked and what didn’t. I started by figuring out how to make silicone molds for casting. This took me awhile to figure out which products and methods worked best. I found that using a pressure pot set at 35-40 PSI when making the silicone molds gets all the tiny bubbles out for a perfect casting. I also used the pressure pot when I poured the epoxy and left it in the pressure pot for 24 hours before de-molding. I used Total Boat thickset for the epoxy, which worked great. I used BBDINO platinum silicone 1:1 mold making for making my silicone molds. Once I figured out the epoxy skulls I moved onto making wood brains to fit inside on my OneFinity CNC. Ultimate Garage Makeover With Xyla Foxlin

In today’s video I’m sharing with you how I helped transformed my friend @xylafoxlin newly rented garage into a bright and functional workshop. Because Xyla is renting but has a one year lease, we wanted to try and do as many renter friendly things as possible, and we ran all the other ideas by her landlord in advance for approval. We started by giving the garage a really good cleaning then painted the rafters of the garage with white paint. We opted to not insulate the walls … I KNOW!… I’m sure I’ll hear about it in the comments. But we didn’t insulate. After we put the walls up (without the insulation) we painted the walls white and hung wallcontrol on the areas that we wanted to hang tools. Once the walls were addressed we tackled the floors. Call Me Mabie Lindsay Zuelich, otherwise known as Wood Brain, is a maker from Torrance, California who makes MAGIC with her hands. Lindsay quickly recognized that woodworking was a growing interest of hers after originally aiming her career towards that of an interior designer. However, the passion for making with her hands led her in other directions. Wood Brain is now a successful YouTube channel and Instagram account where Lindsay catalogs her crazy builds while showing audiences how they're done along the way. Her projects and content are vast and offer something for everyone. Front & back yard makeover with Vigoro

I partnered with The Home Depot to give my front and backyard  a  refresh with Vigoro products.   Vigoro is a total care solution brand.  It is easy to use and will help me create a quality foundation for my beautiful garden all season. Our front yard and curb appeal needed a refresh. I started by seeding and fertilizing the lawn using the Vigoro hand spreader to evenly distribute the seed and the fertilizer. I ran the sprinklers after to help set the seed and fertilizer. Then I moved on to the front planter bed, by clearing and preparing the area for edging, new plants and mulch. I choose plants that were hardy and long lasting for the front planter bed. I picked out three large king palms, 3-spiked yellow flax and 1 bird of a paradise.
