I Built a STUNNING Shed in Just One Weekend

Hey friends! In this video, I’m building a custom shed off the back of our garage to safely and neatly store my husband Eric’s surfboard collection and other sports equipment. This shed solves the problem of sawdust and debris collecting on his boards (thanks to my workshop in the garage!) while creating more storage space for his growing collection.

๐Ÿ› ️ Why We Needed This Shed Previously, Eric’s boards were stored in a sliding-door closet I built in the garage. Over time, the collection grew, and we needed a dedicated space. That’s where my partnership with @84LumberCompany came in to bring this idea to life. ๐Ÿ”จ Step-by-Step Shed Build Process 1️⃣ Prep the Build Site: Switched the hinges on our vinyl fence to improve access to the back of the garage. 2️⃣ Building the Base: Constructed a platform with pressure-treated 2x4s, leveled it, and added a ¾-inch plywood floor sealed with paint and stain for durability. 3️⃣ Framing the Shed: Built the back and side walls with 2x4s and ½-inch plywood, pre-painting and staining the materials. Designed the front wall with a large opening for easy access. 4️⃣ Adding the Roof: Mimicked the garage roof’s slope, framing it with pocket hole joinery. Installed a ¾-inch plywood roof, sealed soffits, and added PVC fascia boards. 5️⃣ Finishing Touches: Installed a custom surfboard rack for efficient storage. Stored additional sports equipment to make the shed versatile. Check out the roofing video tutorials I referenced: How to Install Roofing ๐ŸŽฅ What You’ll Learn in This Video How to build a functional and stylish storage shed.
